Last Chance to Volunteer!
(If you have already volunteered for 2012, please ignore this newsletter)
Greetings!
As we work hard to get the schedules completed, we here at True Dungeon want to give you all one last opportunity to fill out your 2012 volunteer forms. You don't want to miss out on this opportunity - True Dungeon is going to a new venue, a bigger space, with the goal of being a grander experience for all Gen Con attendees. The more volunteers we have, the better the adventure for all!
Once again, here are the changes for 2012:
• Volunteers will NEVER work two shifts in one day. The shortened day is now divided into two shifts, and you will only work one of them. This means THERE ARE NO SPLIT SHIFTS!! Hooray! It does mean you work one 6.5-7 hour shift per day, with TWO 24 minute breaks (as opposed to last year’s 5.5 hour shifts with ONE 12 minute break). This means more time to grab a drink, put your feet up, reflect on how great things are, etc.
• Convention volunteers now have to arrive on Wednesday, not Monday. There is a local build team which will take care of the early construction, so unless you are on the local Indy build crew you don’t have to do any set construction. You must arrive on Wednesday by 5:00pm SHARP for training.
• Full time volunteers now only have to work 26-29 hours over the course of the convention, including Wednesday training. Before this year, full time volunteers would work close to 40 hours, with some doing more during the convention. This is a very big change, as it gives full time volunteers more opportunities to enjoy the rest of the convention - even though True Dungeon is the coolest thing happening at Gen Con (so I can't imagine you actually wanting to go somewhere else... ).
• Additionally, once confirmed as a full time volunteer, True Dungeon will give you a FREE spot in a four-person hotel room (at either the Marriott or Hyatt hotels). You also receive a FREE 4-Day Gen Con Indy badge. More details at the link below.
• Part-time volunteers will work approximately 16 hours over the course of four days (including training on Wednesday) at they earn a FREE 4-Day Gen Con Indy badge.
This will be your last opportunity to volunteer for 2012, as once schedules go out they are difficult to change.
