Gen Con Ticket Draw!  On Saturday, April 3rd we are holding a very special drawing!  Ten lucky token buyers will win, and each buyers wins the chance to "reserve" up to 8 tickets of one time slot before anyone else!  For every token bag you buy, you get one "name slip" in the "drawing hat".  We will contact each winner immediately with their choice of the slot they wish to reserve before TD tickets go on sale the next week.  The actual payment for the tickets will be done at a later date.  This means that you are guaranteed to get the exact slot you wish without having to worry about the crazy time during event registration.  You still have to buy the tickets at the normal price.  NOTE:  The more tokens you buy, the greater your chance of winning your preferred slot!

 

 

The Golden Ticket -- back by popular demand!  We are randomly inserting 16 special Golden Ticket tokens into the 2010 token collection.  Presenting one of these Golden Ticket tokens at the entrance to the True Dungeon Tavern at 9:00am on Thursday morning at Gen Con 2010 will get you into a special VIP run of True Dungeon.  Not only will you be the first to play the new TD adventure in 2010, but you will also get a host of extra goodies which include a completely awesome pack of uber-rare and powerful tokens and an exclusive GT-only surprise inside your True Dungeon adventure.  This year it is a bonus room that only the GT holders get to see!  Note that the odds of getting one of these tokens is exactly the same as finding one last year.  This Golden Ticket program should be a lot of fun for collectors – as any 10-pack could hold an extra-special token for a lucky gamer.

 

 

Big Token Buyers EAT FREE at Gen Con!  To properly thank all the big token buyers who support True Dungeon through their token purchases, we are placing their names on the guest list for the 2010 True Dungeon Hospitality Suite at Gen Con Indy.  This suite has great FREE food and drinks, and you will get a chance to meet many of the TD volunteers.  It will be located in the Marriott Hotel -- only a short elevator ride from the event.  Anyone ordering $2,000 or more will be entered on the guest list, and they can visit the Suite from Wednesday through Saturday at Gen Con Indy.

 

 

 

Details of the Ultra-Cool 2010 Token Program

 

Pre-orders are now being taken for the new 2010 Treasure Token collection until Friday, April 2nd , 2010.  The tokens should ship out around April 20th.  Many in the True Dungeon community have work hard on the 2010 Token Collection, and we have produced a very cool set of tokens!  We are really excited about the ALL NEW "Lore" tokens with their new "copper metallic" backing.  Each treasure token kit comes with a dice pouch and 10 tokens which include 6 Common, 2 Uncommon, 1 Rare and 1 Lore token.  There is a 1% chance that any given pack of 10 tokens will include an Ultra Rare token in place of a Common token.  Note any orders of 10 "10-packs" or more will not come with bags.  They will be shipped shrink wrapped.

 

 

2010 Token Collection

 

1 pack = $10

 

10 pack = $95 - plus two FREE packs (a total of 12)

 

25 pack = $250 - plus five FREE packs (a total of 30) PLUS one 2010 Ultra Rare token* of your choice.

 

50 pack = $500 plus 10 FREE packs (a total of 60 packs) PLUS TWO Ultra Rare tokens* of your choice.  One of these UR tokens will be the standard gold color and it will be shipped with your order in April, but the other one will have a special "onyx" or black backing.  These onyx UR proof token(s) will be shipped to you starting around in mid-March.  If you order after mid-March your Onyx tokens should be shipped within a few days of your order.

 

100 pack = $1,000 - plus 20 FREE packs (a total of 120 packs) PLUS four Ultra Rare tokens* of your choice (Two URs will be gold, and two will be Onyx and shipped in mid-March).  PLUS, you will receive a signed copy of BOTH modules after the event is over in November, 2010. This module will contain a map of the event as well as many illustrations not available anywhere else.  And the module will be cool – really cool!

 

 

SUPER SPECIAL!  800 pack = $8,000 - plus 160 FREE packs (a total of 960 packs) PLUS 16 UR tokens of your choice on gold backings delivered around April 20th, and all 20 URs on Onyx tokens delivered around mid-March.  In addition, you will also receive an entire proof set of Onyx tokens of the 2010 Common, Uncommon and Rare tokens around mid-March.  That totals all 140 2010 tokens on proof Onyx backs received around mid-March.  In addition, you will also receive an uber-rare Wish Ring with your Onyx tokens in mid-March.  Also, you will get a complete set of 40 Lore tokens with your token shipment in April.  Lastly, you get eight copies of both cool modules after Gen Con Indy – which comes in handy since many of these $8,000 orders are group orders. 

 

*NOTE:  Ultra Rare choices:  You may pick ANY Ultra Rare token as your gold choice UR (if you spend over $250) from 2007-2010 collections -- except the Horn of Plenty and the Amulet of Wonder.

 Tickets on Sale Sunday, April 11th

 

Tickets for all FIVE of True Dungeon events will go on sale at Noon (Eastern) on Sunday, April 11th at www.gencon.com.  You MUST have previously purchased a Gen Con Attendee Badge in order to buy any tickets.  You can buy all eight tickets in a given time slot, but everyone who plays in your TD group must have a Gen Con Attendee Badge.  The five all-new events available are:

 

"DragonWard" - The adventurers must assemble a protective medallion before battling a fearsome red dragon.

 

"The Evading Hilt" - The party must ascend a mage tower, sneak into the dragon's cave, and then recover an evil relic.

 

"Nightmare: DragonWard" - This is the same adventure as "DragonWard" with a very difficult challenge rating.

 

"Nightmare: The Evading Hilt" - This is the same adventure as "The Evading Hilt" with a more difficult challenge setting.

 

"True Grind: Unlocking Fortune's Gate" - This is a one-hour combat intensive hack-fest with near-certain death.

 

NOTE:  The challenge of defeating Smoak in "DragonWard" will be intense.  Your party will have to dispatch Smoak very quickly in order to have the slightest chance at victory.  You must have some great sliders to be victorious.  This will be the toughest monster in TD history!  For the Nightmare version the challenge will be nigh-impossible!

True Dungeon Work Kicks into High Gear

 

We continue to make lots of headway on many aspects of the True Dungeon operation.  We have a great staff of volunteers collected, we are nearing completion on many of the sets and props, and we just had a great trip to a Haunted House convention.  I and some senior TD volunteers had a great time at the show, and we managed to lock down many technical aspects of the event.  We also got some great ideas for next year!  I am really looking forward to see some gamer joy come out of all of this work, so I can't wait until August.
