True Dungeon Players,
See You
At Gen Con Indy
Final Chapter of “Hope for the Lost” Now Online!
The final chapter of our online novella is now available at the link below. This story is an excellent introduction to this year’s module. Be sure to give it a read. It recounts all the events leading up to this year’s module. Be sure to also get your paperback copy of this novella “Hope for the Lost” at the TD Store outside the event in the Marriott. All of the $10 we are charging for the novella will go to the Cancer Research Institute in the name of TD volunteer Stu Bernard who is now being treated for colon cancer. My family is paying for half of the cost of the books, and True Dungeo is paying the other half. Each professionally printed paper novella features a full-color cover and inside illustrations by Brian Kelley.
You can read all Chapters 1-16 now online HERE. Much thanks to Dennis Baird for penning the tale.

True Dungeon: Director’s Cut
Saturday, April 4th, 2009 will see the launch of a new True Dungeon event called True Dungeon: Director's Cut. Much like a Director's Cut of the DVD variety, TD: Director's Cut will be the "deluxe" version of the adventure we are running at Indy 2008 -- only enhanced with special features. Below are some details:
+ It operates from noon to midnight on a Saturday, April 4th, 2009 in a warehouse in southern Illinois.
+ There will be one single dungeon with many multiple paths
+ There will be 2-3 completely new rooms not seen at Indy. These are test rooms for the next Indy
+ The dungeon will be DOUBLE the size of the one here at Gen Con Indy
+ Each group will get a single, veteran DM who will guide them through the ENTIRE dungeon
+ Extra "warehouse friendly" effects (like smoke, fog, pyrotechnics, water, etc.), that we can't do in a hotel ballroom
+ Attendees will receive their 2009 tokens a week before anyone else!
+ Special "Token Collectors" banquet in Tavern on Friday night for big supporters
+ A regional airport is 7 miles from event and it offers flights from St. Louis for about $200 round trip.
+ Food and drink will be available in Tavern at reasonable price.
+ All attendees will receive a preview of the new 2009 event to run at Gen Con Indy.
+ Tickets to go on sale in October and they should cost around $45. No badge purchase is required.
This is NOT intended to be a replacement for True Dungeon at Gen Con Indy. Rather, as with other DVD Director Cuts, it is a chance for you to enjoy the 2008 Gen Con Indy adventure one more time – but this time with added features and effects to totally geek out on it. It should be a fun weekend to completely immerse yourself in TD – and make and meet some great TD friends.
Be sure to sign up in the Exit Room at TD for a special newsletter that will be sent out a few weeks AFTER Gen Con Indy.
Have a Safe Trip!
Whether you are flying, driving or walking to Gen Con Indy, please take it easy getting there. There is plenty of gaming for everyone. We will see you at the Con next week.
